Howdy folks! We’re proud to welcome you to the 27th Annual San Bernardino County Sheriff’s PRCA Rodeo, where the spirit of the Old West, cowboy culture, and our western heritage continue to ride strong.
This year’s rodeo is especially meaningful as our nation celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. For generations, the western way of life has represented many of the values that helped shape our great nation – hard work, courage, faith, independence, service, and looking out for your neighbor. Those traditions are alive and strong here at our rodeo, where families and friends come together to celebrate our community and a way of life worth preserving.
An event of this size doesn’t happen without an incredible team of people working behind the scenes. I want to personally thank our Rodeo Committee, Sheriff’s Rangers, Sheriff’s Posse, culinary staff, and many other volunteers who give countless hours of their time, talent, and resources to make this weekend possible. Their dedication is what has made the Sheriff’s Rodeo a San Bernardino County tradition for nearly three decades.
Our sponsors are also an essential part of the success of this rodeo. Their generosity and commitment allow us to make this event bigger and better each year while, most importantly, increasing what we can give back to our community. I want to especially recognize Stater Bros. Charities and the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation, who continue to step up in a big way year after year. Their tremendous support and partnership help make this rodeo possible and allow its impact to reach far beyond the arena. We are grateful to them, and all our sponsors, for believing in this event and the good we can accomplish together.
Of course, the heart of the rodeo has been about more than what happens inside the arena. It’s about giving back. Your ticket, along with the support of our sponsors, helps us support local youth programs and charitable organizations, allowing the success of this event to make a difference long after the final ride. We are especially proud to support the Golden Circle of Champions and its efforts to honor and support children and their families who are fighting pediatric cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Through the spirit, strength and community of rodeo, these courageous kids and their families are reminded that they do not face their battles alone. We’re also proud to continue supporting causes close to our hearts, including the fight against breast cancer through “Tough Enough to Wear Pink”, the “Man Up Crusade” to help victims of domestic violence and our Salute to First Responders.
And while giving back is at the heart of our rodeo, there’s plenty of action ahead. You’ll see some of the best PRCA cowboys and cowgirls in the country competing in seven thrilling events and chasing points toward the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. So, grab your hats, hold on tight, and get ready for a weekend where dust flies, the crowd roars and the western spirit shines bright.
As we celebrate 250 years of America, I ask that we also remember those whose service and sacrifice have allowed us to enjoy the freedoms and traditions we celebrate today. To the brave men and women of our United States Armed Forces, past and present, who have defended our nation against enemies foreign and domestic, thank you! And to the dedicated men and women of law enforcement, fire service and our first responders who stand watch over our communities and protect our way of life each and every day – we salute you!
